Compensation and Support

Base Salary

Monthly salary (including academic allowance) varies from approximately NT$137,370 to NT$84,870, depending on rank (Professor/Associate Professor/Assistant Professor).

Additional Awards.

Additional Research Performance Awards and Outstanding Teaching Awards.

Year-end bonus

Approximately 1.5 months' full salary annually, based on the number of months stipulated by the Executive Yuan.

Housing and rental allowance

Full-time teachers and professional technicians with established positions who joined the faculty group after February 1, 2026, will receive a monthly allowance of NT$10,000, valid for a period of three years from the date of employment.

 Flexible salary

  1. Research elastic salary: Newly hired teachers (within three years of employment) who meet specific qualifications and reward requirements will receive an additional monthly bonus for a maximum of three years. Monthly bonuses are awarded based on rank: Professors receive NT$60,000-80,000, Associate Professors receive NT$30,000-60,000, and Assistant Professors receive NT$10,000-30,000.

  2. Flexible salary for teaching: Flexible salary incentives are awarded based on the applicant's teaching performance for the academic year, ranging from NT$5,000 to NT$10,000 per month. An additional bonus for teaching project PIs selected by the Ministry of Education, Taiwan as the outstanding “Teaching Practice Research Project".

  3. Flexible salary for adminstrative services: Flexible monthly compensation of NT$5,000–10,000 will be awarded based on performance.

Research Support

  • Research Mentorship Program
    New faculty receive one-on-one guidance from a senior mentor. Each term lasts two years, and both mentor and mentee receive NT$10,000/year to support research and professional growth

  • NSTC Research Proposal Consultation SubsidyNew Taipei Tech full-time faculties can invite experienced colleagues to provide guidance for applying National Science and Technology Council (NSTC) projects. Each successful consultation qualifies the invited faculty for NT$50,000. Applications must be submitted to the Office of Research and Development at least one month before the NSTC proposal submission.

  • Journal article editing and publication subsidies
    This subsidy is provided to full-time faculty members and graduate students for manuscript editing and submission of international academic journal articles indexed in Scopus or the Web of Science (WOS), excluding conference papers.
    The maximum subsidy for manuscript editing fees is NT$4,000. For applicants serving as the first author or corresponding author, publication fee subsidies will be provided according to the journal ranking position.

  • Research Funding Subsidy for Newly Faculties
    This subsidy is provided to full-time new faculty members appointed within one year. Applicants must apply the National Science and Technology Council (NSTC) research project under the name of the Taipei Tech and serve as the project PI.
    The Office of Research and Development (ORD) provides an additional maximum equipment subsidy of  NT$500,000 for each new faculty member.

  • Application for inter-university academic cooperation projects All faculty can apply Joint Research Grant Programs through international academic collaboration. Full-time faculty members who hold at least one NSTC research project are eligible to apply for a maximum of three joint research projects (international or domestic programs). Through research cooperation to promote academic collaboration and enhance overall teaching and research development. 

Employee Benefits

  • Teacher benefits and insurance payments include as follows: 

    • Marriage allowance (2-month salary)

    • Maternity allowance (2-month salary)

    • Children education subsidy from NT$1,500 to NT$35,800 according to elementary schools, high schools and universities

    • Funeral allowance for parents and children (3-to 5-month salary)

    • Health check-up once every two years for NT$ 4,500 (for aged 40 and above).

  • Insurance Benefits (average insured salary for the 6 months prior to the accident):

    • Priority Disability benefit 6-36 monthsd

College of Mechanical & Electrical Engineering

The College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering (CMEE) focuses on key areas including mechatronics, manufacturing equipment, process measurement and monitoring, and system analysis and design. We are also at the forefront of vehicle R&D, automation technology, and sustainable energy solutions, such as energy conservation and renewable energy development. Notably, our programs in Vehicle Engineering and Energy and Refrigerating Air-Conditioning (HVAC) are among the few specialized departments in Taiwan, positioning the College as a national leader and a primary driver of innovation in these high-potential fields.

College of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science

The College of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) comprises five graduate institutes—Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Electro-Optical Engineering, Computer Science and Information Engineering, and Space System Engineering—and four undergraduate departments. Taipei Tech encourages university-level research centers and featured laboratories to deepen external collaboration with industry, government, academia, and research institutions. We host Joint R&D Centers with 13 industry titans, including TSMC, Delta, Foxconn, and Pegatron, fostering a high-density R&D ecosystem across supply chains. Additionally, we lead national-level projects in Cybersecurity and Aerospace with the Ministry of Digital Affairs and the Taiwan Space Agency (TASA).

Overview of University-Level Research Centers

Taipei Tech Research Centers are established to advance the university toward world-class international standing by focusing on strategic strengths and enhancing research and development capabilities. Aligned with key national development initiatives, the Centers conduct impactful, practice-oriented research that addresses societal needs and critical industry challenges while cultivating highly competitive advanced research talent. Through comprehensive performance evaluation mechanisms, systematic talent development for master’s and doctoral students, and active promotion of technology transfer, industry–academia collaboration, and research commercialization, the Centers translate laboratory innovations into applications with tangible market and societal impact. In parallel, sustained collaboration with leading global academic institutions through joint research and researcher exchange ensures alignment with international research trends. Beyond academic excellence, the Centers play a pivotal role in driving industrial upgrading and realizing the vision of enhanced national competitiveness through the development and application of major innovative technologies.​

Highlight Outstanding Cases of University-Level Research Centers

High-Value Biomaterials Research and Commercialization Center:The High-Value Biomedical Materials Research and Commercialization Center focuses on addressing key bottlenecks in the commercialization of biomedical materials, including formulation optimization, process scale-up, and rapid market entry. By integrating interdisciplinary expertise across chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, and intellectual property and legal studies, and by establishing long-term strategic alliances with industry partners and clinical medical institutions, the Center has built a comprehensive commercialization support mechanism that accelerates the translation of high-value biomedical materials into clinically applicable products.

 

During the current year, the Center achieved significant R&D and commercialization outcomes, generating multiple high-value medical device innovations such as dental polymer materials, hemostatic devices, barbed surgical sutures, and anti-adhesion hydrogels for orthopedic applications. The Center also strengthened international engagement through bilateral collaboration with Japan’s National Institute for Materials Science (NIMS), the launch of a Biomedical Entrepreneurship Training Camp with experts from the University of California, Berkeley, and participation in the 2025 BioAsia–Taiwan International Forum, substantially enhancing the global visibility of its core technologies and reinforcing its role as a key hub for advancing Taiwan’s biomedical and medical device industries.

Precision Analysis and Material Research Center

In addition to providing teachers and students with new technologies, the Precision Analysis and Material Research Center also provides sophisticated analysis equipment and technologies required by the industry. The Center will also establish a testing system and consulting service platform to make the school a good partner for domestic and foreign enterprises, providing technical services, and cultivating talents for analysis and research from all walks of life. It is hoped that students can use both hands and brains to inspire research spirit from practice, and once again create global competitiveness for Taiwan.​

The Additive Manufacturing Center

The Additive Manufacturing Center for Mass Customization Production mainly develops industrial productivity additive manufacturing (3D printing) techniques and provides complete production solutions to achieve the new type of mass customized mass production model. The center aims at research, development, and integration of manufacturing and production techniques and seeks for industrial cooperation opportunities.

The center focuses on assisting industry for the application of additive manufacturing and keeps up with the trend of mass customization by integration of measurement techniques, analysis and modeling skills, material design, additive manufacturing techniques, and validation assessment techniques for the industrial, livelihood, and medical industries for the future. The center provides industry assistance for the upgrade, advancement, and combination of automation intelligence and emerging mass customization manufacturing techniques to flourish Taiwan's industrial development. With the goal of cultivating talent and linking industry, the center will assist domestic manufacturers in technological innovation to become the cornerstone of the global manufacturing supply chain.

Center for Cleanroom Technology Research

The Center for Cleanroom Technology Research (CCTR) at Taipei Tech is a leading research center dedicated to advancing cleanroom technologies and high-tech facility performance for the semiconductor industry. The Center conducts both fundamental and applied research addressing contamination challenges in semiconductor manufacturing, including cleanroom HVAC systems, air quality control, particle filtration, airborne molecular contamination (AMC) mitigation, micro-contamination in wafer and mask handling systems, purge technologies, and advanced cleanroom design. CCTR is committed to strengthening industry competitiveness and contributing to the sustainable development of the semiconductor sector.
