Faculty Salaries
According to the Teacher Remuneration Act, the salary grades for faculty members are as follows:

Associate Professor: NT$95,420-NT$116,480

Flexible Salary Scheme
Taiwan Tech provides flexible salary arrangements and additional incentives to faculty members with outstanding performance, in accordance with the Taiwan Tech Flexible Salary Directives for Recruiting and Retaining Exceptional Talents in Higher Education Institutions.

Research Support
Taiwan Tech provides faculty with advanced research facilities and support for grant applications. Faculty receive awards through the Teacher Research and Development Achievement Awards and can access funding for international conferences, start-up research, and global collaborations, ensuring strong support for research development and enhancing international visibility.
Employee Benefits
Health examination subsidy:
Faculty and research members of Taiwan Tech aged 40 years or older may be eligible for a health examination subsidy once every 2 years, for a maximum subsidy of NT$4,500 per examination. The excess amount shall not be subsidized. The actual expense shall be reimbursed if the examination fee is lower than NT$4,500.

College of Engineering
The College of Engineering offers diverse academic programs, including bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees in mechanical, chemical, material as well as construction engineering. Highlighted research topics of the College of Engineering include battery technology, biomedical materials, robotics, smart manufacturing, earthquake engineering, A.I. in construction as well as environmental engineering. International partnerships enhance global exposure, while a strong alumni network supports career development. Plenty of international students study in the College of Engineering, especially doctoral students. They produce excellent research results and make significant contributions in engineering community.
College of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science
The College of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (CEECS) advances research, education, and global engagement through three strategic linkages: Local, International, and Future. Faculty members lead eight university-level centers, securing over NT$300 million in annual funding through industry collaboration and government programs, effectively translating research outcomes into industrial applications. Internationally, CEECS partners with 19 universities across Europe and Asia to promote joint research and a premium bilingual environment. By supplying 850 high-level graduates annually to global industry leaders, the College strengthens professional talent cultivation and continues to drive Taiwan’s ICT development and international competitiveness.
School of Management

Center for General Education
The Center for General Education is dedicated to promoting holistic education at the University. Extensive Global Partnerships
Taiwan Tech’s international cooperation is built on an extensive global partnership network, strong industry–academia collaboration, and engagement in regional policy initiatives, positioning the university as a hub for global academic and technological exchange. With over 400 international partners worldwide, Taiwan Tech promotes student and faculty mobility through joint research, exchanges, and dual-degree programs.
Industry-Academia International Collaboration
Taiwan Tech collaborates with Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) and National Taiwan University (NTU) to advance research in cloud computing, IoT, and 5G networks. Other major partners include IGS (鈊象電子), Foxlinnk (正崴精密工業), AAEON (研揚科技), Delta Electronics (台達電子) etc.
These partnerships integrate global resources with local technological expertise, preparing students to participate in international projects. The cooperation also includes internship programs, giving students hands-on experience in global industry settings.
Role in Taiwan’s New Southbound Policy (NSP)
Taiwan Tech actively supports Taiwan’s New Southbound Policy, which fosters collaboration with South Asia, Southeast Asia, and Oceania.

A major strength of Taiwan Tech’s international collaboration is its long-standing partnership with Japanese universities. Since 2014, Taiwan Tech has implemented 124 joint research projects with leading institutions such as The University of Tokushima, Kyushu Institute of Technology, and Tokyo Institute of Technology, focusing on engineering, applied sciences, and advanced technologies. This sustained cooperation over more than a decade reflects strong institutional trust and commitment to interdisciplinary research and joint talent cultivation.
In Southeast Asia, Taiwan Tech has actively expanded its collaboration network, particularly with Indonesia. Between 2021 and 2026, Taiwan Tech conducted 69 joint research projects with prominent Indonesian institutions such as Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) and Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS). These collaborations emphasize applied research and engineering solutions aligned with regional development needs, while also supporting the cultivation of young scholars and early-career researchers.
From 2024 to 2026, Taiwan Tech implemented 57 joint research projects with European partner institutions, including Technische Universität Braunschweig (Germany), Warsaw University of Technology (Poland), Czech Technical University, Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (Lithuania), and Óbuda University (Hungary), strengthening research quality, international visibility, and long-term, technology-oriented institutional partnerships.

Research & Industry Collaboration Highlights
Taiwan Tech provides comprehensive support and a wide range of benefits for its faculty members to foster an environment of academic excellence and innovative research. The University maintains a dedicated Office of Research and Development, which assists faculty in applying for competitive government-funded projects, managing research grants, and coordinating collaborations both nationally and internationally. In addition, the University’s Instrumentation Center offers access to advanced research facilities, cutting-edge laboratory equipment, and cross-disciplinary platforms, allowing researchers to conduct high-quality experiments and pursue innovative projects across multiple scientific and engineering fields.
Taiwan Tech faculty also benefit from extensive experience in industry-academia collaborations. For example, the Sustainable Electrochemical Energy Development Center has partnered with leading domestic companies and executed 130 collaborative projects over the past five years, with a total funding of NT$108 million, averaging NT$838,000 per project. These collaborations include international partners such as Germany’s battery manufacturer INNOLITH, the UK-based battery startup InoBat, and, through EU-funded programs, the German battery company Vito via MPG, highlighting Taiwan Tech’s strong engagement with both domestic and global industry leaders.
Faculty research outputs are formally recognized through the Research Performance Reward Program, which evaluates contributions such as high-impact journal publications, international collaborations, and industry-academia partnerships. This program not only incentivizes publication in leading journals but also rewards active participation in collaborative projects and technology transfer initiatives, ensuring that research efforts are aligned with both national and global standards. Beyond performance-based incentives, Taiwan Tech provides start-up research funds for new faculty members, support for proposal development, and administrative assistance to facilitate smooth project execution.
The University also emphasizes international exposure and academic networking. Faculty members are eligible for financial support to attend international conferences, workshops, and symposia, as well as opportunities to engage in short-term visiting scholar programs at partner institutions abroad. These measures are designed to enhance the global visibility of Taiwan Tech research and foster connections with leading scholars and institutions worldwide.
The Business Incubator Center (BIC) at Taiwan Tech was established in 1998. It is designed to help the economy revive through innovative business and technological developments. The purpose of the BIC at Taiwan Tech is to offer facilities and services to help entrepreneurs and small and medium-sized businesses developing advanced technologies and new business bases. Our BIC won 2024 National Innovation Award - Startup Advancement Award (or Incubation Award). Since 2021, Taiwan Tech’s BIC completed its International Startup Incubator Registration Accreditation and is regarded as one of the best campus incubation centers.

At the forefront of semiconductor and energy technologies, the Heterogeneous Integration Silicon Photonic Chip Research Center and the Sustainable Electrochemical Energy Development Center address critical national and global challenges. By promoting cutting-edge research in integrated photonics and sustainable energy systems, these centers support the formation of high-impact research teams and the development of long-term academic leadership.
